چکیده
The ingestion of cold water in winter results fluctuating decreases rumen temperature, impacting fermentation function and methane production. This study aimed to investigate the impact calcium propionate (CaP) on characteristics, production, microbial microbiome under different vitro incubation temperatures. A 2 × factorial experiment was conducted over 72 h, with or without 2.5% CaP (dry matter [DM] basis) substrate a constant temperature (39 °C, CIT) shifting temperatures (12 cycles total, each cycle consisting 4 h at 39 °C followed by immediate transfer 30 for ITS). showed that ITS inhibited gas concentration 12 (p < 0.05), reduced ammonium nitrogen (−14.25%), (−16.14%), butyrate (−12.67%), total volatile fatty acid (−8.50%) more than CIT groups 0.05). addition significantly increased production (+4.84%), asymptotic (+5.08%, per 0.2 g DM substrate), (+18.05%), valerate (+9.45%) 0.05) compared CaP-free groups, while it had no observable effect methane. Furthermore, yielded significant increase relative abundance Bacteroides Under condition, Methanomicrobiales decreased positively correlated (r = 0.47, p Additionally, Prevotella_UCG_003 which negatively 0.45, Overall, our suggests can alleviate adverse effects parameters regulating composition sustaining reduction

The Effects of Phenolic Compounds in Iranian Propolis Extracts on in vitro Rumen Fermentation, Methane Production and Microbial Population
The objective of this study was to determine the chemical compounds of Iranian propolis (IP) extracts and to show flavonoids and phenol effects on methane production, fermentation characteristics and rumen microbial population (in vitro). In this study two diets with different concentrate: forage ratios as (HC: high concentrate) and (MC: middle concentrate), respectively as non-supplemented or ...
متن کاملMicrobial fermentation of rice straw: nutritive composition and in vitro digestibility of the fermentation products.
Rice straw was fermented with Cellulomonas sp. and Alcaligenes faecalis. Microbial cells and undigested residue, as well as chemically treated (NaOH or NH4OH) and untreated straws, were analyzed for nutrient composition and in vitro digestibility. In a typical fermentation, 75% of the rice straw substrate was digested, and 18.6% of the total substrate weight that disappeared was recovered as mi...
متن کاملEffects of calcium propionate on the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of alfalfa silage
OBJECTIVE To assess the potency of calcium propionate (CAP) used as silage additive, an experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of CAP on the nitrogen transformation, fermentation quality and aerobic stability of alfalfa silages. METHODS Alfalfa was ensiled with four levels of CAP (5, 10, 15, and 20 g/kg of fresh weight [FW]) in laboratory silos for 30 days. After opening, the silag...
متن کاملSyntrophic propionate degradation response to temperature decrease and microbial community shift in an UASB reactor.
Propionate is an important intermediate product during the methane fermentation of organic matter, and its degradation is crucial for maintaining the performance of an anaerobic digester. In order to understand the effect of temperature on propionate degradation, an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor with synthetic wastewater containing propionate as a sole carbon source was introdu...
متن کاملEffects of Fat Supplementation and Chop Length on Milk Composition and Ruminal Fermentation of Cows Fed Diets Containing Alfalfa Silage
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fat supplementation for enhancing milk conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in early lactation without affecting ruminal fermentation. 24 Holstein dairy cows were assigned to a completely randomized design employing a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement. Factors were particle size (15 and 25 mm) and two different sources of alfalfa supplemented with and wit...
